Joey, an overworked New York architect, is in the Cotswolds to oversee the restoration of Stanway House – the stately home that inspired J.M. Barrie to write ”Peter Pan.” It hasn’t been easy. The local residents aren’t exactly welcoming, and then there’s the problem of the brooding caretaker, a man who seems to take every opportunity to undermine her plans. She soon begins to feel that she can’t do anything right.

Vilken härlig överraskning! Jag blev nyfiken så fort jag såg bokens framsida och när jag läste på baksidan ökade intresset ännu mer. Men så här bra kunde jag inte tro att den skulle vara, fast hoppet så klart fanns där! Att killen dessutom hette Ian ökade kanske upplevelsen lite också, vad vet jag:) The J.M. Barrie Ladies’ Swimming Society har fått lite blandade omdömen på internet. Det är främst personer som är bosatta i Storbritannien som klagar på hur britterna framställs och att det inte stämmer med verkligheten. Nu är inte jag så insatt i vad britterna egentligen har i kaffet eller hur man bäst serverar en haggis, så jag märkte inget sådant. Jag bara njöt av läsupplevelsen:)
